South Sudan

Restore a Child is helping 300 poor and orphaned children from the total of 950 students in the Juba Adventist School in South Sudan.

2005 - Present

Restore a Child is helping 300 poor and orphaned children from the total of 950 students in the Juba Adventist School in South Sudan.

To accommodate all the students, the school operates in two shifts, which cuts the time for learning to only four hours a day. More classrooms are needed for this school so that quality education is not compromised. A library is also needed for the school.

We also support hundreds of poor students in two other schools. We also built a school for the South Sudanese refugee children who fled to North Uganda. Because of the 20 years civil war, thousands of children were left orphans. We feed children and have assisted families and widows during COVID 2020 to provide food for the entire families. In 2020 and 2020 we also distributed many Goats for Milk for poor mothers to feed their little children. Also in 2020 and 2021 we helped rebuilt the Vocational School that was destroyed during the war. All the buildings are completed and in 2021 students started their studies. There is emphasis on Agriculture and fruit trees. We repaired all the old equipment including two tractors. Students work in the fields and get paid to help with their school fees. The food they grow is sold to the school for food to help with their education.

We work with Dr. Clement Mawa, the president of the Field who was the first of the Adventist institutions to start a department for orphans and widows
