The Angel of the Lord's message to the shepherds (Luke 2) was a message of:
"Good news that will cause great joy for all the people ... Then a great company of angels joined saying: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests."
Statistics show that Americans spend more than $2.5 billion on Christmas wrapping paper. That's a lot of money for something that will just be ripped off and thrown away. However, God gave us the most precious Gift without the wrapping paper... the gift of His own dear Son to save us, the news of Great JOY and PEACE... What a Gift!
Before the inception of Restore a Child, Jesus' words left an indelible impression on my life when he said, "he who is greatest among you shall be your servant". My journey of 25 years was that of a servant to the "least of these"... the orphans.
Today, there are over 160 million orphans worldwide. If we were to combine them, they would constitute the 9th largest nation in the world. Add to this the six million children who die of hunger every year and I struggle with these staggering statistics. Promotion does not save lives, only caring and love does. YOU can help children realize their dreams, one dream at a time.
When the festivities of the SEASON OF LOVE AND GIVING ends, our constant challenge is to keep the flame of hope burning in the hearts of children. YOU are the LIFEBLOOD that empowers Restore a Child to serve and impact the lives of children for NOW and ETERNITY.
