For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills...
If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it. Psalms 50:10,12
This beautiful poetic imagery reminds us about the ultimate ownership of our goods. We work hard during our lives to collect earthly goods and provide for our families... and that is good. However, often we sit back with a sense of accomplishment and gaze with pride on what WE have accomplished.
The Bible reminds us of the other option… instead, merely being thankful for WHAT HAS BEEN GIVEN TO US, we also need to gratefully return a portion of that which has been given to us. This is in recognition that he owns “the cattle on a thousand hills.”
Life can be tough. The pain of seeing children die of hunger lingers in our minds. While we can't change the nature of the greed in this world, God is forgiving and He shows us the best way to save lives.
Restore a Child is grateful for for every one of you who faithfully shared your abundance for quarter of a century and those new donors who have helped so far this year. Every gift, large and small, is saving lives.
