Four-month-old Mbatel Koumabas with a swollen body. Three of her siblings died for lack of funds to seek medical help. The father also died. Since her life was threatened with severe malnutrition and edema, she was brought to the hospital for treatment.

Most of the women are old because the mothers died during childbirth. Grandmothers assume the responsibility for babies with no food. One woman walked 26 km to come for food for her grandchild with malnutrition.
