Appreciation!

This word describes the significant success of the joint mission to Jamaica by Restore A Child and the Palm Springs SDA Church.

The first stop in Manchester included 2 fully funded fun days as part of 65 projects to include painting a police station, a stop at Northern Caribbean University and receiving an award from the Jamaica Union Conference.

The major concentration was in West Jamaica Conference. The team provided a treat and a fixer upper of the Darliston Preparatory School while still without electricity since the Hurricane. The last full day saw a massive fun day treat that served nearly 500 children, 90% of whom are homeless, orphaned or live in unacceptable dwellings. There is more to be done and even on a trip to the airport, the team met with a mother who lost everything and had her child sleeping underneath a coconut tree. The plan now is to help her with a significant self supporting venture to provide sustainable support—this is ongoing.

As promised the Western Conference, we went back a few weeks ago on a mission trip to complete the work on the schools and also add a new project to rebuild an Adventist Church that was completely destroyed by the hurricaine.

The last word is—THANK YOU!

Omar Palmer, Senior Pastor
