Dr. Kuntaraf, our board member, who lives in North Carolina, received the following letter. We will be grateful for any one reading this eUpdate to reach out and help us fulfill the needs of some of the Hurricane victims in Florida and Ashville, North Carolina.
Dear Restore a Child,
Thank you for reaching out again. We were so lucky to have minimal damage at our school. Our building project was delayed a couple of weeks. Because we are on a well, we were able to resume school with only a two and half weeks gap.
Most of our families are just getting their water back - the ban was lifted last night! We were so glad to have electricity back. We had some parents come in and cook meals for our students that weren't able to cook at home, or who didn't have groceries or gas.
The first picture is of two brothers who's step father lost his home, shop and property. We didn't know about this for several weeks because he was so busy helping others, and making sure the students and families here were ok. They need help with tuition.
Many students lost their entire house with all their belongings. We are so glad that they were out of town when the storm hit, and were safe and now together as a family. But they are literally starting over from scratch.
Again, we are so lucky to be whole, and back together as a school family. We have a lot to be grateful for! Thank you for caring.
Erin Miller, Principal
