Message from the Founder/President
I AM THE RESURRECTION... HOPE RISES AGAIN
On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa swept ashore—a Category 5 storm, the strongest ever to grace the coasts of Jamaica. Its winds howled with fury, leaving a destructive mark etched in history, yet also awakening a legacy of resilience. In the western parishes, the storm claimed around 95 lives, with many losses felt deeply across the beloved island of Jamaica. The cost was staggering—$8.8 billion in damages—a financial wound, yet also a rallying call to restore the pride of this beautiful Caribbean nation.
Yet even in the shadow of such devastation, the message of Easter speaks powerfully: after suffering comes renewal, after loss comes resurrection, and after the darkest night, hope rises again.
Restore a Child was privileged to partner with Omar Palmer, Senior Pastor of the Palm Springs Church in Florida, to go on a mission trip with some of its members and family. Together, we are providing relief to the affected children and schools impacted by the storm—delivering relief packages and building materials to restore structures devastated by the hurricane.
As Easter reminds us that new life can emerge from brokenness, we believe Jamaica’s story is not one of destruction, but of restoration. Let us continue to stand together, undaunted. By God's grace and your support, we will find the strength to help Jamaica rebuild, regroup, and rise anew. For every hurricane that roars through our lives, let it inspire a collective spirit forged in hope, faith, and resurrection power.
