Indonesian Orphans

YAPI (means “Adventist Care of the Indonesian Foundation) has been a partner of Restore a Child from its conception in 2005. In the past 22 years, we have worked together in supporting orphans from all parts of Indonesia. Currently YAPI is operating 11 orphanages that are scattered all over Indonesia. Aside from supporting those orphans with their food, shelter and education, those orphans have been introduced to Jesus Christ. Since 2005, YAPI has;
Baptized 426 orphans, graduated 420 high school graduates, and 131 university graduates, and 2 orphans who have Masters degrees. Among those university graduates, 31 of them are theology graduates, who are currently working as pastors and Bible teachers who are scatted all over Indonesia, from Nias Island to Papua. In fact one is serving as a missionary in the Philippines, and a theology graduate by the name Efri Yanto Siahaan ( photos below) has served as pastor in Jordan, an now is currently serving as pastor of the Adventist church in Baghdad, Iraq.
YAP I is very grateful for the support of Restore a Child.
Below are two of the four homes for orphans and training centers Restore a Child built. Norma Nashed, travelled with me and my wife three times to check on the orphans. Below is the home donated in memory of May Hasso by her mother Sumaia Hasso of California. Restore a Child also built a Training Center next to the home for orphan girls in Manado.
